South Asia. It, known as Ceylon till 1972, has everything including clean blue
sea coast, lush rainforests, spice gardens, rich wildlife reserves, vast rubber
plantations, temples, stupas and a variety of bird species to attract tourists.
I am going to mention 6 attractions that give you mixed experience of culture,
adventure and natural beauty.
Cultural triangle – Include Anuradhapur, the Sacred City of
Kandy and Polonnaruwa in your Sri Lanka tour

Sacred City of Kandy has the temple of Lord Buddha’s Tooth. However it is a
pilgrimage site but it gives you opportunity to experience multicultural
rituals.

Anurudhapur is a live example of the Sinhala civilization. You will be
astonished to see masterpieces of Sinhalese architecture. Polonnaruwa, the
medieval capital, gives the point to study its water management visiting the
5940 acre reservoir which was constructed by King Parakramabahu.
Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage
Located in Kegalle Village, the
Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage is one of most visited tourist places in Sri Lanka

Hakagala gardens in your Sri Lanka tour
as these two gardens are the country's biodiversity hotspots. The Sinharaja

hilly terrain. Further, you can stay for at the Blue Magpie Lodge to see varied
bird species and natural greenery.
The rock-cut caves of Dambulla
Sri Lanka came on the international
cricket map due to Dambulla’s cricket stadium. Based in the middle province of

most famous rock-cut caves in Asia. Its depictions on walls as well as ceilings
will remind you Ajanta and Ellora.

You can’t ignore the Yala National Park in
your Sri Lanka
holiday package. Spread over 100000 hectares land, this park houses
untamed elephants, leopards, , lounging leopard, peacocks, flamingos, crested
hawk eagles, paradise flycatchers and many more.
Atop the Sigiriya Rock
Sigiriya is famous for its frescos. One
of the most imperative World Heritage Sites of Sri Lanka, declared by UNESCO as
the 8th Wonder of the World inspires a feeling beyond words. One can imagine
how it was inhabited through prehistoric times, and used as a rock-shelter
mountain monastery since 5th century BC.
