3 Gardens to Visit in Kashmir Tour




Kashmir, the “Paradise on Erath”, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. It has everything from snow-capped mountains to gardens including lakes and valleys to draw tourists from all over the world. If you are planning to have picnics among greenery in your tour, include these 3 gardens Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Garden and Chashma Shahi in your tour package to Kashmir.

Shalimar Bagh
Love to have lunch or dinner in the park; don’t forget to visit the Shalimar Bagh in your Kashmir tour. Just 15 kilometers away from the Tourists Reception Center, the garden was built by the Emperor Jahangir for his loving wife Nur Jehan. It is a very attractive garden having several lakes, shallow terraces and greenery. The garden is 539 meter wide and 182 meter long and has four terraces. Once reserved for royal ladies, it is visited by a large number of tourists every year.

Nishat Garden
Based on the banks of the Dal Lake, the Nishat Garden is included in almost all Kashmir tour packages.  It is just 11 kilometers far away from the Tourists Reception Center and gives opportunity to have a magnificent view of the snow capped Pir Panjal mountain range and the lake It was designed by Asaf Khan, brother of Nur Jehan, in 1633.

Chashma Shahi
Constructed in 1632, the garden of Chashma Shahi, is the smallest among all three Mughal Gardens and included in Kashmir holiday packages. Developed by the Mughal Emperor , Shah Jahan, it is 108 meters long and 38 meter wide and is located above the Nehru Memorial Park. You can have stunning view of the Dal Lake and nearby mountains. Having several waterfalls and springs, this garden offers a great experience of picnic in uour tour to Kashmir.
